Fig 41 BACK TO THE FUTURE : IRINA WERNING

I fell upon Irina Werning's website last Friday, and absolutely loved it how clever and super cool. The detail and styling are spot on, such a great idea. Wish I had thought of it. Think I may have a few classic poses/photo's I could recreate - sitting on a potty fully clothed balancing a snack sized milky bar on my head springs to mind!!

Fig 40 BOBO CHOSES

I have always wanted to have the time to design children's prints and clothes, 'Bobo Choses' is exactly on the mark, It's natural down to earth and quirky but also utterly beautiful and pretty. I love the softness of the clothes and the colour palette & Illutration style. And the Illustrators story on there website - see below

On Sunday mornings, as soon as the sun comes out,
Camille opens her eyes and puts on her battledress:
a tutu and a top hat. She has so many things to do:

Jumping on the bed until her mummy says THAT’S ENOUGH!
Eating loads and loads of cherries.
Hiding all the umbrellas.
Choosing a new favourite colour.
Giving names to the waves.
Asking the wind in a whispering voice to tell her a story.
Letting an ice-cream melt in her hand.
Drawing thousands of faces on thousands of balloons.
Yelling to the winter to go away.
Looking for something unexpected on a map...
But then Camille hears a voice from the other side of the door. Stop that jumping!

SHE HAS SO MANY THINGS TO DO!

Fig - 38 African Inspired Lino Print

My friend Alex is going to Uganda to help build a school with the Ogilvy Many Hands team, she is holding an art's exhibition to help raise money for the school and her trip, each participant has to enter a postcard size piece of art, which will be auctioned. I decided to do a lino print - which is inspired by African Textiles I feel using this kind of printing adds a natural earthy, hands on feel, the little cracks and imperfect imprints, make it all the more authentic. Wouldn't it make a great textile with these sun bleached muddy tones.
If your interested in taking part please get in contact, I would be more than happy to give you the brief in more detail.
